Week 15- Daily dose of sanity

Week 15- Daily dose of sanity

This photo is outstanding example of everyday life. This is my colleague Nancy and me in our favorite café MAKAMARA. We go there for a coffee every day after work. The place is nice, with painted walls, as you can see, and it has huuuge windows. It is located at the main square in Uzice, so it has the best view in town. And girls as girls, you know, we take advantage of our high position and we are observing people, kids, dogs, cats, making up stories, dialogues and so on. Waiters know us very well, and we don’t need to order, just say “As usual.” (That means two coffees, one with milk, one without, and two glasses of sparkling water, 270 dinars, as usual). And, believe me, it is a great feeling, it feels like home.
Now when I count, we have spent a great deal of time there. Oh, so many discussions about political situation in the world, global warming, ecology, engineering, business, big ideas, fashion, make up, boys, girls, friends, enemies, so much complaining and yet so much laughter. That is favorite part of everyday routine, like a small reward after 8 hours of work. When we were analyzing our spending (because the money is always mysteriously disappearing), we were considering (for a couple of seconds) should we still be drinking a coffee there every day. But we have decided that it is very bad idea because a coffee at MAKAMARA’s is essential for our mental health in these hard times. And it just cannot be paid.
