It is a simple project…..I have decided to make 52 (self-)portraits, 1 per week for a whole year. I have to try my best to make it really SELF- portrait, but sometimes I am cheating, you know…. I have decided to start this in middle of January, so I didn’ t have self-portraits for first two weeks and I had to take another pictures. Then sometimes, when I want to capture something totally special I need a help! Lack of equipment, lack of time and so on…. I had to cheat sometimes but I guess it is OK because the point of this project is something else.
I have to admit I never liked photos of myself very much. My nose is too big on this one, my lips are too small on another one, my face is too funny, too serious, too pale and so on.
So I wanted to force myself to make 52 portraits somehow!
And to be proud of them!
No matter how captured they are and despite of my nose size!
Another thing that I wanted to accomplish is to find something special and interesting each week and to participate in it.
To encourage myself to search for beauty all around me.
To open my eyes.
To learn something about photography.
And to play.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.
I don’t have a hell of a camera. But I have some good ideas and stories to share.
This was my first project of this kind, I am still practicing.
….and who knows….if I finally like it maybe next year I will come up with 356 days project……..or I will just have enough portraits for the rest of my life. 😀
One more thing: I will be posting all of material that I’ve collected in these five months and hopefully I will catch up soon. Stay tuned. Thank you so much for reading!
